WHY CHOOSE AN ASHI® INSPECTOR?
The
American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI)®,
formed in 1976, is a nationwide, non-profit, professional Society. Its formal inspection
Standards of Practice
and guidelines define the minimum "scope" of a home inspection. ASHI® is recognized
as the leader of the home inspection industry.
ASHI® grants full membership and certification only after a candidate has passed
two comprehensive written examinations and has performed at least 250 paid inspections
that comply with the Standards of Practice. Members must also comply with a
Code of Ethics which specifically prohibit inspectors from conflict-of-interest
activities, such as using the inspection as a vehicle to obtain related work on
the house. Members must also fulfill annual continuing training that amounts to
over three times more than the current State license requirements.
